November 27th, 2006 | New Feature - HTTP Compression Option for Transaction Monitoring Services |
Customers using Application Monitoring services can now set the monitoring agent to require that the HTTP servers participating in a monitored web transaction send the requested data only in a compressed format. This new transaction monitoring feature will detect problems with server HTTP compression or with improperly compressed data and will notify webmasters about the problem. By introducing this feature, WebSitePulse gets even closer to simulating real end-user experiences and interaction with web transactions. | |
November 22nd, 2006 | New Security Features Added for Account Users Login |
Now the account administrator can select additional security options for each individual account user: 1) the account administrator can configure a specific user to be able to log into the account only via the more secure HTTPS connection. 2) the account administrator can configure a list of IP addresses for each individual account user from which the specific user can login to the control panel. All login attempts from IP addresses not included in the list will be rejected and logged for administrator review. | |

A Full Web Page Test has been added to the existing set of free testing tools. It provides a complete breakdown of DNS time, connect time, first byte and complete content download times for every web page component, including images, files, etc. The information is available in chart (Flash or Java) and table formats. SMTP authentication capabilities have been added to the WebSitePulse Email Round-Trip Monitoring Service. This option allows for more complex monitoring of email round-trip transactions including: - SMTP authentication verification, and - Test relaying of messages from authenticated users The option can be set in the Advanced Configuration screen of email round-trip targets. | |

WebSitePulse has added a second voice call gateway to improve voice alerts redundancy, to provide our customers with additional notification options and to reduce pricing for voice alerts. The new gateway provides coverage for USA and Canada and is priced at $0.39/voice alert. | |
October 10th, 2006 | Improved and Redesigned Test Tools |
The popular Instant Test Tools have been redesigned and we have added some additional options for you to use. Online users of the public tools can select one of three testing locations available, can email the results or save them for future use. WebSitePulse members can select any of the testing locations available (currently 20) and again email or save the results. Today we have deployed our 17th monitoring location in Toronto, Canada. The monitoring location is part of the WebSitePulse Global Monitoring Network that already includes 16 monitoring locations around the globe, and offers the most complete web monitoring services for our clients. This new monitoring station will provide additional visibility to our North American and especially Canadian customers. A new option has been added to the Email Round-Trip Monitoring. Upon activation, when an error is detected with an SMTP server while trying to send a test message, the monitoring agent will wait for 5 minutes and will try to resend the message one more time. An error will be reported only if the second attempt fails. | |
May 10th, 2006 | Support for SSL Servers with Email Round-Trip Monitoring |
The Email Round-Trip Monitoring Service now supports SSL-enabled servers for both incoming and outgoing servers. The option is available in the Advanced Configuration screen for this type of monitoring target. When selected for the incoming server, it automatically selects the default server port 465, which can be changed. When selected for the outgoing server, it automatically selects the default server port 993, which can also be changed. | |
