HTML / Hypertext Markup Language
HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language -- a standard markup computer language for representing the contents of a page of hypertext; the language that most web pages and web applications are currently written in.
Web browsers receive HTML documents from a server and render them into multimedia web pages. HTML describes the structure of a web page semantically and originally included cues for the appearance of the document.
