Target Type
The type of the target that is monitored by WebSitePulse.com. The type defines what tests will be performed on the selected target. Currently you can choose between the following target types:
PING Basic - pings the monitored target to test network status;
HTTP basic - monitors HTTP port availability;
HTTP advanced - monitors HTTP server availability and tests the servers response status;
HTTP Performance - monitors an HTTP URL for availability, performance and specific functions;
HTTP full-page - monitors an HTTP URL for availability, performance and checks the page components as well;
HTTPS basic - monitors HTTPS port availability;
HTTPS advanced - monitors HTTPS server availability and tests the servers response status;
HTTPS Performance - monitors a HTTP URL for availability, performance and specific functions;
HTTPS full-page - monitors an HTTPS URL for availability, performance and checks the page components as well;
FTP basic - monitors FTP port availability;
FTP full-page- monitors a FTP URL for availability and performance. You can test whether a file can be downloaded via FTP or check if an FTP folder contains specific files;
POP3 basic - monitors POP3 port availability;
POP3 Advanced - monitors POP3 port availability and tests whether a user can login to the POP3 server;
SMTP - monitors the status of a SMTP server;
IMAP basic - monitors IMAP port availability;
IMAP advanced - monitors IMAP port availability and tests whether a user can login to the IMAP server;
SSH basic - monitors SSH port availability;
Telnet basic - monitors Telnet port availability;
DNS advanced - tests whether your DNS server is responding properly to DNS requests;
Custom port - will check any UDP or TCP port availability;
Transaction - tests a multi-step web transaction;
Email Transaction - tests sending and receiving of email messages using your mail servers.
