SMTP Servers Configuration

When running an email round-trip test the WebSitePulse.com monitoring agent will try to send a test message to a specified test email address and then it will try to login to your POP3 / IMAP account to verify whether the message was delivered successfully.
You can configure manually the SMTP servers which will be used when sending the test message or you can let the monitoring agent retrieve the SMTP servers automatically from the MX (mail exchanger) records as a normal email client will do.
If you are not sure which SMTP servers to use or if you have more than two active MX records we recommend you to set the monitoring agent to use the hosts listed in your MX records.
If you need to test if a specific SMTP server is sending emails properly you should select the manual configuration option.
