MTR - Traceroute & Ping Gadget

The MTR - Traceroute & Ping Gadget is based on the linux program MTR, which combines the functionality of the "traceroute" and "ping" programs in a single network diagnostic tool. The test investigates the network connection between the selected monitoring location and the tested host. After it determines the address of each network hop between the servers, it sends a sequence of ICMP ECHO requests to each network hop in order to determine the quality of the link to each hop.
